Piggin' Out for James BBQ Feast

We sponsored the Piggin' Out for James BBQ Feast on Jan. 28 to help raise funds for James Harrelson and his ongoing medical treatment for transverse myelitis. We're happy to report the event was a huge success and completely sold out!
Shoot Three and Win Halftime Challenge

We sponsored our annual Shoot Three and Win Halftime Challenge during the Piggly Wiggly Roundball Classic from Dec. 27–30 at North Charleston High School. Congratulations to Ian Rosenblum, 13, for winning the $1,000 grand prize!
2nd Annual Avondale 5K Run & Walk

We laced up our running shoes for the second annual Avondale 5K Run + Walk. On Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011, we joined fellow runners and walkers in the Avondale neighborhood in West Ashley to raise money for the Charles Webb Center.

Charleston Animal Society’s A Furry Affair

We were thrilled to again sponsor the Charleston Animal Society’s A Furry Affair on June 25. The event, which included a live and silent auction, raised an amazing $50,000 to help save the lives of animals in the Lowcountry. Academic Magnet High School Golf Tournament

On April 29, We helped support Academic Magnet High School’s golf tournament at The Links at Stono Ferry in Charleston by sponsoring a hole at the event, which raised money for the school’s athletic department.
Ronald McDonald House Charities of Charleston Breakfast

Deana Nash and Samantha Craven organized the monthly breakfast on April 17, which hosted by the law firm. Many firm employees consistently volunteer their time to help with this ongoing effort.
St. Vincent de Paul Society Donations

Celebration of Hope

On March 10, we celebrated The Dee Norton Lowcountry Children’s Center 20 years of service to abused children and their families during the Celebration of Hope. This event honored the leadership of those who provide continued support and guidance. Click here for photos from the event.
Chart a Course for Children

We were excited to support The Dee Norton Lowcountry Children’s Center during a dinner and silent auction at Fleet Landing on February 16. We donated two bicycles to be auctioned during the event, which helped raise funds to provide services for child abuse victims and their families here in the community.

Running For James
November 14, 2010

As a Silver Sponsor of the Running for James 5k, we helped raise funds for James Harrelson, a local teen who was diagnosed Transverse Myelitis, an uncurable neurological disorder caused by inflammation across both sides of one level, or segment, of the spinal cord. The proceeds from the family-friendly run/walk benefited James and his family by helping pay for the teen’s medical treatment.
Sixth Annual Friends of the Hunley’s Oyster Roast & Silent Auction

We sponsored the Sixth Annual Friends of the Hunley’s Oyster Roast and Silent Auction in Charleston. The event helped raise funds for the preservation of the H. L. Hunley submarine, which was used during the Civil War and became the world’s first successful combat submarine by sinking the USS Housatonic on February 17, 1864. This annual event included good food and a silent auction filled with exciting packages and weekend getaways.

Sixth Annual Shoot Three and Win Challenge
December 28 – 30, 2009

University of South Carolina student Kevin Fletcher won the $1,000 grand prize during the firm’s sixth annual Shoot Three and Win Challenge, which was held in conjunction with the 17th Annual Piggly Wiggly Roundball Classic. The final night of the tournament proved to be exciting, as the last two participants went four rounds until Fletcher’s opponent missed a free throw. Proceeds raised during the basketball challenge benefited the North Charleston Rotary Club’s scholarship program and Communities in Schools.

Joye Law Firm was proud to be the expo sponsor for the Charleston Animal Society’s Paws in the Park and Walk for the Animals event at Park Circle in North Charleston. The event featured a walk fundraiser, games, food, live music, and activities for pets and families—including pet contests for sloppiest kisser, best tail wagger, and best costume. In addition to raising more than $36,000, the event resulted in 13 dogs and puppies finding new and loving homes.

Habitat for Humanity Charity Golf Tournament

On September 12, four firm members golfed to benefit the Habitat for Humanity of Horry County, which raised more than $18,000. The tournament is the organization’s biggest fundraiser of the year and was held at the Myrtle Beach National Golf Club.
Charleston Habitat for Humanity Ceremony

Members of Joye Law Firm presented Charleston Habitat for Humanity with the proceeds raised from the firm’s garage sale, which totaled $1,700.
"It was a nice ceremony, and it was rewarding to meet the homeowner and her grandson," said firm member Erin Rojas, who attended the event. "Habitat rehabilitated the house to be more handicap-accessible for her grandson, who has cerebral palsy."

Joye Law Firm had a firm-wide garage sale to benefit Charleston Habitat for Humanity. The sale was held in the firm’s parking lot and included items ranging from kitchen items and sporting goods to electronics and furniture. Joye Law Firm's fifth annual "Shoot Three and Win Basketball Challenge" challenge, which benefitted the North Charleston Rotary Club's scholarship program and Communities in Schools, was held in conjunction with the Piggly Wiggly Roundball Classic and allowed participants the chance to win $50, $200, or $1,000. The firm paid all of the contest participants' winnings, with the total payout exceeding more than $3,000 this year. In total, the tournament and the contest raised approximately $45,000 for the two charities. Recycling Program to Benefit Children with Burn Injuries
Summer 2007
The members of Joye Law Firm began recycling their aluminum soft drink cans to raise money for the Burned Children's Fund at the Medical University of South Carolina Children's Hospital. The proceeds will help pay for the physical and emotional recoveries of pediatric burn patients, including rehabilitation equipment, image enhancement programs, and items such as school re-entry programs, wigs, make-up, and special clothing. The funds from the recycling program are used for other purposes, including burn education and prevention programs and a special annual camp for burned children called "Camp Can Do."
