Academic Magnet High School Athletic Department

Joye Law Firm is the inaugural sponsor of the Carolina Center for Brachial Plexus Injury Support, which is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the support of children, adults, and families affected by brachial plexus injury in North and South Carolina.Click here to learn more.
Charleston Animal Society
Since 2008, Joye Law Firm has donated more than $1,500 to the Charleston Animal Society's "A Furry Affair" fundraiser, which raises money to support the society's efforts to provide food, shelter, and medical care to homeless animals in Charleston County. One of the firm's paralegals serves on the organization's board, and she personally donates $2,000 annually to the society.Click here to read more.
Charleston Habitat for Humanity
Chosen as the primary beneficiary of the 2009 Joye in the Community program, Charleston Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with people in need to build decent, affordable housing. Joye Law Firm has pledged to donate $10,000 by the year's end through monetary and in-kind donations, such as used furniture, and through donated labor from the firm's staff members and attorneys. Coastal Crisis Chaplaincy
Since 2006, Joye Law Firm has supported the Coastal Crisis Chaplaincy, whose volunteer chaplains assist local emergency workers dealing with crisis situations. The firm is grateful to have been a beneficiary of the Chaplaincy's services, although under heartbreaking circumstances, when a longtime firm employee unexpectedly and tragically died while at work. Chaplain Rob Dewey, who is the founder of the Coastal Crisis Chaplaincy, generously came to the office to provide grief counseling to everyone at the firm. Ken Harrell, managing partner, said, "The Charleston and surrounding community is fortunate to have such a dedicated and committed group of individuals serving those in need."Click here to learn more.
Coastal District Council of the St. Vincent de Paul Charitable Society
Since 2007, Ken Harrell, Joye Law Firm's managing partner, and his son work one Saturday each month picking up furniture donations for the St. Vincent de Paul Charitable Society. Mr. Harrell and paralegal Shelby Sweet also handle the incoming calls from people seeking assistance for one week on a bimonthly basis.
East Cooper Meals on Wheels
Joye Law Firm supports the East Cooper Meals on Wheels annual fundraising gala, which raises funds to help deliver daily nutrition to residents in the community who are homebound or unable to provide their own meals. Click here to learn more.

In April 2009, Joye Law Firm donated to Fishing for a Mission, which conducts medical services and poverty relief mission work in Nigeria.
Frances R. Willis Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals
For the past four years, Joye Law Firm has sponsored the annual oyster roast fundraiser held by the Frances R. Willis Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, which provides a safe haven for stray, abandoned, abused, or lost pets.Click here to learn more.
Global Missions International

Joye Law Firm supports Global Missions International, a nonprofit organization that assists those in need by connecting them with agencies that can provide food, clothing, medical treatment, legal advice, bereavement counseling, and government assistance. Harrell/Conrad Memorial Scholarship
Joye Law Firm's managing partner, Ken Harrell, started this annual scholarship program in 2009 to recognize graduates of his alma mater, Sussex Central High School in Sussex, Virginia. Each year, a graduating senior receives a $5,000 scholarship to assist with college-related expenses.
Injured Workers' Advocates
For several years, Joye Law Firm has sponsored the Injured Workers' Advocates' annual conference. Led by the firm's managing partner, Ken Harrell, this nonprofit is the leading organization working to protect the rights of injured workers in South Carolina. Click here to learn more.
Joye Law Firm Annual Scholarships
Each spring, Joye Law Firm awards four graduating seniors from area high schools with $2,500 scholarships to assist them with college expenses. Selection of the recipients is based on school activities, positions of leadership, special honors and awards, community involvement, academic performance, and academic and professional pursuits. Each candidate also writes an essay about underage drinking and driving prevention. Recipients are personally presented with their awards, followed by a dinner hosted by Joye Law Firm.
Joye Law Firm Client Assistance Program
Joye Law Firm purchases grocery store gift cards to assist clients who are in need. Over the years, the firm has spent between $2,000 and $3,000 each year on these cards. Additionally, the members of Joye Law Firm adopt the family of a client each Christmas and purchases gifts for each child in the family.
Kids' Chance of South Carolina
Joye Law Firm has sponsored various fundraisers, including golf tournaments and 5k runs, to benefit Kids' Chance of South Carolina since 2005. The organization provides financial scholarships for dependents of seriously injured or deceased workers to complete their education. Click here to learn more.
Piggly Wiggly Roundball Classic
Since 2001, the members of Joye Law Firm offer local basketball fans the chance to win cash prizes while benefiting the North Charleston Rotary Club's scholarship program and Communities In Schools. The contest, held in conjunction with the Piggly Wiggly Roundball Classic, allows participants the chance to win $50, $200, or $1,000 in a "Shoot Three and Win" basketball challenge. Ronald McDonald House Charities of Charleston
Joye Law Firm has donated to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Charleston since 2007, when one of the firm's paralegals was benefited by this organization while her son fought a valiant battle against cancer.
